Welcome

Welcome to Liam's hangar for all the development work that I have done (and still doing) for flightgear. I hope you will find this site a useful free resource for you. This site is dedicated to Civil Airliners.

I plan to integrate a large proportion of development into the Airliner field for the simulator. All work is released under the GNU GPL license, compatible with the Flightgear license.

This site is made possible purely out of inspiration for the flightgear community, and I wish to thank everyone involved in flightgear including everyone who has taken time in designing an aircraft or scenery for the benefit of others. Feel free to join this site to support FlightGear, add your own images, etc. You do not need to register to download, everything is accessible by all.

What is Flightgear?

What is Flightgear Simulator?
Flightgear is a free open source simulator. It is constantly growing bigger and better, gaining better scenery, effects and of course plenty of new aircraft. Unlike most flight sims, Flightgear was built using a sourcecode from NASA, but went from there to be built pretty much from scratch by developers doing it as a hobby, and still is expanding from the same inspirational characters and enthusiasts as it was when it first started. Why is it free? Because we built it, and we would be more than happy for you to help us build more, even if you have minimal skills;- there is endless things for you to learn and developers to work with, and plently of manual's, and the Flightgear wiki, which is pretty much our Library for information and help on making things.

FlightProSim?
BEWARE! FlightGear is also being sold as a commercial version, renamed "FlightProSim" by a community-unknown individual, but without the latest features or add-ons. Please help support flightgear against this fraud. For more information regarding this issue, Please see this link.

How can you help?
By building your local airport, or your favourite airport perhaps, building your favourite plane?, or working on a 3D cockpit for it perhaps! It is all do-able if you have courage and willingness to gain knowledge. XML (Extensible Markup Language) is a set of rules for encoding documents electronically, and it is how every plane and scenery file in Flightgear is coded. These codes can be built and changed so easily, meaning every plane has been modified using these XML codes which define what they are. Complicated? Its really not, if you are patient and have a passion for aviation.
